First Baptist Church of Olive Branch is seeking a Part-Time Kids Ministry Director to lead and develop a gospel-centered ministry for children in 1st–5th grades.

We believe the church has the privilege and responsibility of partnering with parents to help children know and love Jesus Christ. We are looking for a leader who is passionate about reaching the next generation, developing volunteers, building relationships with families, and creating environments where children can hear and respond to biblical truth.

Located in the thriving community of Olive Branch, Mississippi, just east of Southaven and minutes from Memphis, Tennessee, we are excited about what God is doing in our community and in the lives of the next generation.

The Kids Ministry Director will provide leadership and vision for a meaningful, engaging, and biblically faithful ministry to children in 1st–5th grades.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Lead the ministry: Develop and maintain a healthy, gospel-centered ministry that helps children grow as disciples of Jesus.

• Develop leaders: Recruit, equip, encourage, and care for volunteers, creating a culture where people enjoy serving and are equipped to serve well.

• Teach biblical truth: Help ensure that children encounter Scripture in ways that are faithful to God’s Word, age-appropriate, engaging, and meaningful.

• Partner with parents: Communicate clearly with families and equip parents to take an active role in the spiritual formation of their children.

• Create safe environments: Establish ministry environments where children are safe, known, welcomed, and able to build meaningful relationships.

• Bring creativity and energy: Develop engaging experiences that capture children’s attention while keeping the gospel and biblical truth at the center.

• Provide organization and structure: Planning, Communication, and maintaining systems that promote order, consistency, and safety.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have a deep and growing relationship with Jesus Christ

• Demonstrate a genuine love for children, families, and the local church

• Be a leader of leaders who can recruit, develop, and encourage volunteers

• Be humble, patient, approachable, and willing to listen

• Be a gifted communicator who can connect biblical truth with children at different ages and stages of development

• Be creative, energetic, and relational

• Be organized, prepared, dependable, and capable of creating healthy structure

• Work well as part of a ministry team

• Have experience serving or leading in children’s ministry

• Theological education or training (preferred)
